EVEN CELEBRATION IS AN ACTIVITY
AND A SET TABLE IS AN EXPRESSION OF TOGETHERNESS
This year, for the fourth time, we invite our neighbours and visitors to a festively set table in František Suchý Park. Accept the invitation and a seat at the common table. Thanks to you, the Neighborhood Lunch will once again materialize in the spirit of togetherness and celebration of the good life in Strašnice.
Our goal is to establish a new tradition of celebration that we create together. For us, the Neighborhood Lunch is a symbol of togetherness in the original sense of the word. The symbol, Greek sym-ballein - "to bring together", functioned then as a proof of identity. A person at a feast was given a piece of a broken object, and whenever he proved himself, he was welcomed as an old acquaintance, even years later.
In the spirit of this tradition, together and with sensitivity we populate the park, and we donate everything we have collected and created together. In this way, we hopefully do our bit to make a clean and safe park come alive through meeting and sharing.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE NEIGHBOURHOOD MENU WELCOME
You can also influence the composition of the neighbourhood menu, your (in)culinary contributions to the common board are welcome, as well as your stories and memories of where we live.
We will serve our food, traditionally, in clay plates made by the artist Barbara Dayef.
YOUR OWN CUTLERY AND GLASS TO TAKE WITH YOU
Please prefer reusable packaging and don't forget to bring cutlery or a glass. This will minimise unnecessary waste. Basic drinks will be provided on site.

What if we could feed the land with art? See you at lunch in the park. Marion Rénier, during her summer residency in bubahofu and MeetFactory create ephemeral installations and performances.
SWAP OF EXTRAORDINARY GIFTS 14:00-18:00
In the spirit of togetherness, there will not only be a festive lunch, but also a neighborhood SWAP of UNCOMMON GIFTS. We invite you to join the neighborhood swap by donating of one symbolic gift. You can then also gift yourself, in exchange for yours you will receive a gift from someone else.
Books, flowers, toys and clothing for children and adults, decorative items and household trinkets made of glass, metal, wood, ceramics or textiles are welcome. All in the spirit of responsible quality. Electronics, appliances, plastics are not welcome.
SEWING WORKSHOP 15:00-18:00
Workshop for children and adults with Alush and Terka from Bulmex.
You can sew an original cloth bag from leftover cotton fabric. A simple gadget with practical use for shopping, school...
Fabrics and all materials will be provided. Younger children will be able to try sewing accompanied by their parents. The bigger ones can definitely manage to make their own with assistance.
UKRAINIAN AND CZECH SONGS AND FOLK DANCE 16:00
A performance by children from Ukraine from the nearby Mars Hotel, who will play Ukrainian and Czech songs and folk dance for you. They will show off a collection of blouses they painted themselves at the art workshops. Brush cut a Vesna.
