Gala Luncheon VII.

For the seventh time, we're setting a long table right in František Suchý Park and we invite neighbors and passersby, known and unknown, to join us for lunch. Come and sit down, have a bite to eat and a few words. Every story, every memory, and every bite is part of this slow celebration of the good life in Strasnice that we inhabit together.

PROGRAMME

14:00 Lunch together with piano accompaniment
15:30 Participative window: 'How would you adapt František Suchý Park?' debate on the ideal form of the park and its use, thematic art workshop and artistic intervention
17:00 Literary reading: Anna Řezníčková
18:00 Presentation of the gallery in Olga Space and guided tour of the current exhibition

Throughout the afternoon: art workshop, ping-pong, hula-hop and other games, plant swap, musical accompaniment.

Common board

Anyone* can contribute to the neighbourhood menu - your pies, salads, spreads or whatever you like will find a place with us. We will serve, traditionally, in clay plates made by artist Barbara Dayef.

Bring your own cutlery and glass

Please prefer reusable packaging and do not forget to bring cutlery or a glass. This will minimise unnecessary waste and live up to the slogan "The best waste is the waste that doesn't get generated".

Why are we doing this?

The Neighborhood Lunch started as a small dream of a new tradition. It is based on the original meaning of the word symbol - from the Greek "sym-ballein", meaning "to put together". Once upon a time, the symbol was the part of a broken object by which guests recognized each other even years later and were welcomed like old friends. In the spirit of this tradition, we are furnishing the park together and with feeling. In this way, we are doing our bit to make a clean and safe park come alive through meeting and sharing.

A note about taking photos during the event:
We will take photographs and audio-visual recordings during the lunch. Our goal is to inform the public about the community event through the media, our own website and social media. We trust that we will not bother you with this, and we also give you our word that we will pre-sort the footage we take with thought and sensitivity before publishing it.
