The Bubahof was founded as an original community in which relationships without hierarchies and an emphasis on ecological behaviour not only towards nature but also towards each other play an important role. It is an open platform for socio-cultural activism and education.
Today it addresses not only the cultural public, the art scene and its students, but also the citizens of Strašnice and its surroundings, local initiatives and institutions, etc. Conveying themes of art, alternative economic forms, human rights, permaculture approaches, local history and visual culture in a spirit of openness and respect, shared creativity and critical thinking.
The association concentrates in its headquarters at Za Poštou 8 in Prague's Strašnice studios artists, spaces for residence and other activities. It is also a shared living space, a "breeding ground" for common projects of the population and activities of the Olga Space. The formerly dismal concrete area of the courtyard has now been transformed into an inhabited Gardenwhere the permanent residents are the cats Céca and Buba, after whom the association is named. The "Hof" or backyard is a real and symbolic refuge.
Bubahof stepped outside the walls of the courtyard and with similar care restored the forgotten Strašnický František Suchý Park and enlivened it with neighborhood festivities. It is thus participating in the creation of an open platform for cooperation with active citizens and local associations with the intention of jointly creating new traditions based on local history and current neighbourhood life. It also remembers the double resistance against the totalitarianism of the František Suchy family and the importance of human rights in the present day. The background for the events in the park has gradually become Olga, an open community space with galleries and a front garden. It bears the first name of his wife Fr. Suchý and is almost symbolically adjacent to the park.
