WASTE
The present age is above all an age of waste. Waste in incredible Quantities is the result of Daily the production of the wealth of the "first worlds". Moreover, the millions of tons of garbage produced daily by Euro-American civilization alone require a sophisticated processing structure and, according to the general concenzu taste, all waste disposal should be as secret as possible. Garbage has thus become somewhat conspiratorial. In the 1990s in the US, for example, they ceased to be private property. The secret services that dealt with it have searched in suburban housing estates failed to make their findings in the courts because they did not have the right and permission to rummage through private bins, according to defence lawyers. Therefore, they were subsequently nationalized.
Working with garbage is nothing new in art, but since Rauschenberg's time, not only has the total volume of waste grown exponentially, but above all a new variety of waste has been born: information waste. Almost everyone is studying garbage. For example, the media or private researchers search the Internet, found briefcases, or secret messages accidentally left in the information dumps of our public institutions. It is only logical that in the post-industrial age that calls itself the Information Age, the greatest amount of waste is in the form of information.
Pode Bal, in his project Secret message, worked 2006 both with the usual rubbish from the familiar landfill sites outside the city and with the waste of information flows such as "Leaked"secret messages from government and police circuits, with the garbage lying in the dumps of our information society. The reconstruction of randomly found and carefully selected components of all available dumps forms an ingenious installation that transforms the found garbage back into meaningful structures symbolically reflecting the organism of our society.
UNDER THE BALCONY IN THE ALDER
Now in Olga's space fragment of a group Pode Balwho remained in the Czech Republic (Michelle Adlerová and Antonín Kopp) will try to reconstruct fragments of the eighteen-year-old Secret messages. We hope for at least the spiritual participation of Peter Motyčka, who lives in the USA. We don't know what will happen during the work. Since we have not seen each other for a long time, the project is a social experiment for us. Will we enjoy it as much as we used to? Will we inspire each other? And will the work go smoothly? Or will we eventually say to ourselves, "you don't step in the same river twice" and find that it doesn't "work" anymore? The exhibition will also include Briefs, a kind of instructions for use to the implementation of Podebalov projects by the general public.
The fourth exhibition in the series THE HERITAGE OF COLLECTIVES: ADAPTATION AND TRANSFORMATION. The cycle for 2024 loosely follows the previous years (2023 - PARENT, 2022 - DCERY SONS MOTHERS FATHER) and extends them to include the dimension of social ties, relationships and forms, where cooperation and collectivity are seen as necessary aspects of sustainability and survival.
